Caitlyn Jenner

Like the rest of the world, I have Facebook. And like the rest of the world's Facebook newsfeeds, mine has been filled up with thoughts on Caitlyn (née Bruce) Jenner. So now, I've decided to share mine.

I wholeheartedly agree with each and every one of you who are saying that this Caitlyn Jenner thing is proving what a sick and twisted world we live in. I pray that we can all turn to God and learn to be a little more Christlike by not criticizing, condemning, and judging people who are different from us. I pray that we can all stop this nonsense of picking and choosing which passages of the Bible we think matter. And I pray that we can all be a little more caring, supportive, and LOVING of other human beings. Especially if you call yourself a Christian, because you're embarrassing the rest of us.

And now with the seriousness of the issue aside, can we all admit that the guys who are bashing Caitlyn are doing so because it scares them that they're attracted to her and the chicks are jealous because she's hotter than them? Like, for real.

Hey Caitlyn…you go, girl.

Can Buzzfeed Guess My Age?

I guess the fact that I'm a regular Buzzfeed reader already says a lot. But I took 4 Buzzfeed quizzes that tell you your age based on your taste in Books, TV, Music, and Movies. My results?

Books: 28

It was a tough choice between The Giver and A Wrinkle in Time for my favorite childhood book, but I went with The Giver.

TV: 35
I picked TRL as my favorite music show because Headbangers Ball wasn't an option.

Music: 54 / 18

When I first took the quiz, I chose Guns N Roses as the all-male group that speaks to me, because hey Slash. But then I took it again since Backstreet Boys is actually more accurate. All of the other responses stayed the same and I went from 54 to 18. Not sure which I like better.

Movies: Annoying Film Student?
The soundtrack question was hard because Wicker Park and Empire Records weren't options. I think my result was set when I picked Joel & Clementine for "whose love do you hope survives?" over Peeta & Katniss or Edward & Bella.

I'm 27, by the way. How old does Buzzfeed think you are?

2015 Goals: April

I'm getting a late start this month. I have been so busy at work (and play) that the days are just flying by! I seriously cannot believe that it's already April. I didn't plan any goals for this month and I've already missed a week -- so let's see what I can come up with for the rest of April.

Get Fit: This goal never seems to stick, so I'm going to make it easier this month. I will be taking Mosby on a walk (at least one time around the neighborhood) once a week.

Stress Less: Stay caught up on laundry. I actually enjoy doing laundry -- until it gets backed up. Once it's backed up, it takes forever for me to sort and start it. It's backed up right now, so I need to clear it out and keep it done.

Learn More: I will be watching at least one documentary this month. I think I'll start with Going Clear -- HBO's documentary on Scientology.

What goals do you set for yourself? How do you accomplish them?

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling...

Twenty-one!

Oh, to be 21 again. But that's not what I mean. I set some goals for myself for a little 21 Day Challenge. 21 days working on my mind, body, and soul.

1) 21 Days of No Alcohol

I'm not someone who drinks every day. But I do live in a college town and the main source of fun and social interaction around here is the Square. We have movie theaters, but A and I went to a movie last month and spent $25 on tickets and drinks -- we didn't even get popcorn! So, to the square we go. In a typical week, I'll have a few drinks on Monday at Proud Larry's, Tuesday at the Rib Cage, Thursday at the Library, Friday at the Library, and Saturday at the Library. Not only is that bad for my mind, it's bad for my body, too.

2) The 21-Day Fix
The 21-Day Fix consists of 30 minute daily workouts with ol' Autumn here. Cardio, Upper Body, Lower Body, Pilates, Yoga…something different every day. I started it once before but didn't reach the end. This time, I'm determined. Except obviously not determined enough to also do the nutrition part of it. But come on, the portion control for potatoes is smaller than the palm of my hand. I have tiny hands. And I love potatoes.

3) Meditation

I have issues with anxiety. I don't take any medication, because thinking about medication makes me anxious…but for the past week, when I feel panic coming on, I just stop what I'm doing, sit down, and breathe. It has made a world of difference already.

**So far, mediocre. At a concert on Day #5, I decided that instead of 21 Days with no alcohol, I would have 1 skip night a week. I regretted that decision on Day #6. I also skipped my workouts on days 5, 6, and 7. It is difficult for me to find time on the weekends -- but I will from now on. I'm going to double up to cover the ones I missed and then hopefully not miss any more in the future. Setting goals was just the start…now I have to finish strong.

Aunt Faye & Uncle A

In just a few short months, I will be an aunt for the first time! My sister is expecting a baby in August. --Which reminds me of this quote I once heard: "Why do people say they're expecting when they're pregnant? Like -- we're expecting a baby but it could be a dinosaur."-- We had a Saints themed gender reveal party since Mom and Dad are big Saints fans.

When they popped the balloon, out came pink confetti! It's a girl!

I am thrilled to be this special little girl's aunt. We can't wait to meet you, Sawyer!

You are already so loved.

2015 Goals: March

In keeping with my overall theme for 2015, I have set 3 more goals for March.

Get Fit: A & I have a membership to a club that includes a gym. I have never worked out in a gym. Ever. This month I'm going to try it. I'm not setting a specific goal for how many times per week I will go…I just want to at least try it out and see where it leads.

Learn More: I haven't found a new band in a while, because I've been listening to old playlists. To learn more this month, I'm going to listen to Pandora and discover some new artists.

Stress Less: I snooze my alarm every morning and then rush to get ready and almost always skip breakfast. Just 30 extra minutes in the morning would help my day begin stress free. No more snoozing!

Are you meeting your goals for 2015?

27

I turned 27 earlier this week. I celebrated with friends over a lovely dinner at one of my favorite Oxford spots, ravine.

In typical blogger fashion, I have compiled a list of 27 things I know believe at 27.

1) The person you end up with will probably not be what you imagined. He'll be ten times better.

2) You should keep a budget or at least know where every penny you spend is going.

3) You don't have to wash your hair every day.

4) Routines will keep you focused and productive, but you should shake them up every now and then.

5) You don't have to be friends with people you don't like or that are not good for you.

6) Keeping your nails painted will make you feel better about yourself. Doing them at home will make you feel better about your bank account.

7) There is no excuse to not know how to cook.

8) "Because" is a perfect explanation. You don't have to give reasons for why you do or do not want to do something.

9) Plan your days but not your future.

10) You should never be typical.
